14th May 2010 - Teignmouth

Post by Jeff »

Made it to Teignmouth. Left Dartmouth on the 12th of May and overnighted in Churston Cove at anchor, then when the tide was right last night we had a good fast downwind passage to Teignmouth. Worries about the entrance were unfounded, but we were glad of equipping ourselves with the right literature for the task. A quick phonecall to the HM beforehand also helped alleviate concerns. Coming alongside the visitor pontoon was a touch tricky as it was very tight and the tide/wind were strong and not affecting the boat in the normal ways. Managed OK, but had to rapidly row off to retrieve the fishing rod which got knocked off while we parked.

Sailing from Churston to Teignmouth. Winds touching 25knots. Dog quite relaxed.
