Ideas for increasing our readership?

 Anyone got any bright ideas as to how we might increase the number of users on here?

We don't want to spend a fortune, but are willing to spend some money if it seems likely to be effective.

I could always stick a link to here on my website if you like
Another way would be to start people on other forums talking about this forum, but that can backfire :o
Let me know if you want the link ?
Oh, and no I won't charge :D

A forum for each make &/or class of yacht?

Here's a suggestion for you... a specific forum for each make &/or class of yacht. I've noticed that most of the Owners' Association websites that are for specific makes like Beneteau and J-Boats seem to lean heavily towards the US market. It would be good to encourage communication closer to home in Europe.

Another suggestion - X-posting to YachtPals

I've noticed that people on YachtPals like to chat a bit about what's going on. "Regional Info & News & Events" would be a good place to post a full article, then post a snippet on YachtPals with "full article here -->" (link to YF article)

There are some sailing charities in the South West that do good work and could do with more publicity (like Horizons in Mayflower). Maybe a forum for them here could be a focal point for them and giving them more publicity, with x-links to other sites to bring traffic back here.

OK, what kind of fora does the "YBW forum" not offer? How about
- self-build designs, plans and resources
- navigation equipment
- onboard computer hardware
- marine software

Liking the idea of posting topic snippets with "full article here..." links.

Adding more and more individual fora for specifics just doesn't work unfortunately. When we first opening the forum we had _loads_ of them, including regional ones. Problem is that all the information is too segregated and it makes the whole site look a bit empty. If posts built up on a particular subject I'd set up a specific forum then, otherwise I genuinely believe fewer is better.

Keep em coming! Thank you!

Send an email to all yacht clubs asking to publish a link in their Website, if not already done!

I will request our Club to insert a link! Chepstow District Yacht Club
