Have a natter in here about anything you like. Witty, serious, interesting, inspirational - anything goes. Just like your own yacht club bar - but electronic! :)

New Year Resolutions!

Post by Discus »

2014 is now upon us and tis the season of the resolution. What are your boating resolutions for this year?
Mine are:-
1. Sail further this year
2. Complete the fitting out list (not managed that ever)
3. Anchor a bit more (still not relaxed about the whole thing)
4. Buy a topper for the forepeak - it gives my hip some right gyp!

Not very exciting but you have to start somewhere :D

Happy New Year to all.

My list is identical apart from:

4. I don't know what a topper is?

+

5. Put engine back together and hope it works.

PS. For your #3, consider a modern form anchor - you'll sleep much more soundly.

A topper is one of those memory foam mats that you lay over the bunk cushions making it much more comfortable. Stops you waking in the night with an aching hip as bunk cushions tend to be a bit hit and miss. They make a real difference.
Our engine is also in bits - well, in the galley actually, awaiting new engine mounts and realignment. Not a job I wanted to tackle so ponying up for that one
No budget for new anchor due to above expense  :?
Cheesed off with weather - village flooded again so roads dodgy. Not feeling like going to the boat
Bit bored already and home job list is getting longer
Cat diagnosed with acute renal insufficiency
Not liking 2014 yet - will have to grow into it :x
