Cheapest place to buy flares?

I've found a pack of four (2 orange smoke, 2 red handheld) flares for £36.99 online... seems bloomin expensive for four fireworks to me! And I was hoping to get a couple of white light ones also... so they'll be extra no doubt.

Is that about the best price available? Or am I missing a source?

Well, I spent the evening and night onboard with my lamp a few weeks ago. It was close to freezing outside, but I managed to find the right balance of ventilation/warmth from this single lamp to keep me warm enough to happily sit and read all evening. Spot of wine helped also :) At one point the CO ...

Pictures of your yacht.

Let's see your lovely boats then, post your favourite pics in here.

I'm new to yachts this season and my Centaur hasn't touched the water since I bought it, so I only have an interior shot :( Bit it's a nice one :)

Domestic Radio For Boat

Looking for a radio for my boat for entertainment and weather updates on LW. I'm really keen for it to not use any battery power from the boat's engines so I'm thinking it's either got to be one of these clockwork ones, or take some standard (AA?) batteries I can easily carry a load of onboard. I've...

Anti-foul over old anti-foul?

I was told that there's somewhere online you can go to find out if your old anti-foul is compatibile with various alternative new coats.... I've got a old layer of Blakes Cruising Performer on at the moment and would like to find out if I can go over the top of that with Blakes Tiger Extra. Anyone k...

Small Outboard Servicing.

I've got a Sukuki 2.2 2-Stroke... probably worth about £300 new I guess... so I'm thinking that self-servicing is probably more cost effective than paying someone to do it professionally. After all, if a service is circa £50 to £100 and the engine lasts 5 years - I might as well have just looked aft...

Inboard Diesel Engine Rust (Volvo MD11c)

The outside surface of my MD11C is rusting fairly heavily in some places. I bought some "corrosion block" based on readers reviews in the PBO forums and have simply removed the larger flakes of rust, and liberally applied a good squirting. http://www.hotribs.com/07product-reviews/corrosion...

Oh nice one! Thanks for that! As you've got local knowledg... I'll be mooring up at Weir Quay on the Tamar - anything I need to know about that? I understand it can get a bit shallow at LAT near Cargreen - is that a major issue? I've got a bilge keeled Centaur - so I guess I should be fine if I'm ca...

Hi Rich 8) I'm pretty new to this game myself having just taken the plunge and bought myself my first yacht (which I'm simultaneously both excited and stressed about as you can maybe tell my all my questions :P). I asked about a lot before deciding where to look and what to look for etc etc, and I r...

Plymouth Sound Virgin

I'm going to be cruising out of Plymouth for the first time next season... how daunting is that going to be exactly? I guess it gets pretty busy at times, but is it a proper nightmare, or OK when you get used to it, or actually not as bad as one might think? :?: :?:
