Boatyards AAAAAGH!
Is it just me, or does anyone else get the impression that boatyards don't share the same sense of importance about your pride and joy as you do? Not gonna name names but I gave a signed go-ahead to a certain yard to do some work on my boat about 6 weeks ago. They only just started, despite saying i...

Hehe, like your aspirations :) Seriously though, the bigger it is the greater are the running costs. Unless you've a pretty inexhaustable supply of money, the extra stress brought on by a larger vessel is seriously offputting for me. Mooring fees, AF fees, rigging, sails, EVERYTHING is exponentially...

Applying antifoul.
I'm going to do this myself this year. Can I just buy any old roller and tray from B and Q - or do I need to shop in a chandler for something specific?

Oh dear. There's zero chance of me finding the 1992 proof or the original sales receipt. I shall have to chalk this one up to experience and hope that if/when I come to sell, I can find a buyer who's not too bothered. I think in my case that might be reasonably likely though - not many Virgo Voyager...

VAT Exemption For Older Yachts (Virgo Voyager)?
I bought a 1981 Newbridge Virgo Voyager recently. I took the former owner's word for it that VAT was exempt. Being built before 1985. It has just come to my attention, however, that it may be necessary to prove the location of the vessel on December 31st 1992. Is this actually the case? If so what e...

Launching after time on the hard. Checklist?
Hoping for a little advice if possible.
Wondering what the normal routine is for launching?
Do you rig sails etc before launch, or after?
Do you close seacocks then open them one at a time post launch?
Do you stay in the crane for a while until you're happy that all is well?
What do you do?
